OnePlus is gearing up to be the first smartphone maker to launch a device with Qualcomm’s next-generation chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. According to OnePlus China President Louis Lee, the OnePlus 13 is set to debut this month, although an exact date hasn’t been confirmed. In a recent post on Weibo, Lee mentioned that the OnePlus 13 will feature the “latest Snapdragon flagship chip,” which is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
Qualcomm’s annual Snapdragon Summit, typically held toward the end of the month, is when the company is likely to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. This suggests that the OnePlus 13 could launch shortly after Qualcomm’s official announcement, making it the first smartphone to feature this new chipset. While there were earlier rumors that Xiaomi might be the first to debut a phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, it now appears that OnePlus could beat them to it.
